Snake #2 . . .

or sermon illustration!

Spence got to kill another really big snake on Monday! YUCKO!
Glad it's him and not me!

My Birthday

So no pictures about this but a very exciting bragging time for me! Monday was my birthday, Spence let me sleep in. While I was sleeping he had the girls color me a picture and "write" a card and put it all in an envelope. Awaken by my breakfast birthday toast . . . I was so surprised to open my card from Maddie and see her name written out, letters in order, all by Maddie herself!

The rest of my day was very relaxing. I tried not to do the norm: dishes, laundry, picking up toys, like I said: I tried! For dinner we went to "Pi" - a pizza pie place, thick crust, lots of cheese and toppings and some good chucky, sweet tomatoe sauce. Very good! The cutest part was watching Maddie walk to the car with her purse on her shoulder! After that we drove around downtown for the first time since we moved here. It was very cool! I love downtowns so I had a blast. Then we stopped by Ted Drewes again for some birthday icecream. That was my day!

Weekend in Memphis

We spent last weekend in Memphis for Richie's (for those of you who know him) installation (for those who don't, our church installed their new Senior Minister). We rolled into town just in time on Friday to have dinner with George and Bryn and their two little girls: Elizabeth and Hattie.
I had to take a group picture for the blog!

Elizabeth was very proud of sticking her lamb's head in the paper towels!
Come 7 o'clock, Hattie was ready to go!

At Grammy and Grandaddy's house . . .

We got re-acquainted with our cats and dog, the horses, the toys, and the musical instruments!

The girls were very thrilled to celebrate my birthday. They love birthday parties!

And I was very blessed to be so loved!

On our way out of town, after the service and lunch on Sunday, we drove past our house where our very awesome neighbors were outside (they will always be called our neighbors!). Wish I took a picture as we drove up. But of course we had to get out and talk too! The girls got to play with their friends and climb David and Holly's tree in their front yard. After about 45 minutes it was time to get on the road. Jenny and Holly went off to Sonic for some hot weather refreshments. We followed for some drinks for the road!

It was so good to be home for the weekend, to be a part of the installation and to see our sweet friends. Our drive home was great. The girls were exhausted and slept for 3 of the 4 hours. Spence and I got in some good talk time.
